  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

It shall be the duty of the collectors of the revenue of such counties to keep the tax books of such townships as may be under the jurisdiction of said district number 2 of the circuit court of that county in said branch office, and to keep one or more deputies in said office to attend to the duties thereof.
