  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The clerk of the court having jurisdiction of criminal cases in counties of the first class not having a charter form of government and in counties of the second class shall, at the end of each term of the court, file a report with the auditor showing all judgments rendered during the term for fines or forfeitures, the date and amount thereof, and on what account. The report shall be certified to by the judge of the court as being correct.
