  • Property: includes real and personal property. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • Prosecute: To charge someone with a crime. A prosecutor tries a criminal case on behalf of the government.
  • State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

The director shall prosecute, in the name of the state, for all trespasses and injuries of every kind done to the public buildings and other property, and shall attend to the suits relative to the same. The attorney general shall give counsel, or prosecute suits, when required by the director.
