  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

Notwithstanding the provisions of section 1.140, the provisions of sections 290.095 and 290.250 and sections 8.964 to 8.974 shall not be severable. In the event a court of competent jurisdiction rules that any part of this act is unenforceable, the entire act shall be rendered null and void.
