69-3-831. Interconnection — construction and effect. Sections 69-3-832 through 69-3-849 and this section do not grant any jurisdiction to the commission over telecommunications carriers except as expressly set forth in 69-3-832 through 69-3-849 and this section, and 69-3-832 through 69-3-849 and this section may not be construed to limit or repeal exemptions from the commission’s jurisdiction otherwise recognized by statute or law. Legislation may not be considered to supersede or modify any provision of 69-3-832 through 69-3-849 and this section except to the extent that the legislation does so expressly.
Terms Used In Montana Code 69-3-831
- Commission: means the public service commission. See Montana Code 69-3-803
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
- Telecommunications: means the transmission, between or among points specified by the user, of information of the user's choosing without a change in the form or content of the information upon receipt. See Montana Code 69-3-803
