81-22-105. Investigation of complaints and violations — injunction. The department shall provide for periodic inspections and investigations to disclose violations of this chapter or of rules adopted under this chapter. The department shall receive and provide for the investigation of complaints and request the institution and prosecution of civil or criminal actions, or both. This chapter and the rules adopted under it may be enforced by injunction in a court having jurisdiction to grant injunctive relief. An adulterated, impure, contaminated, misbranded, condemned, or mislabeled article or product involved in a violation of this chapter or of the rules adopted under this part is subject to seizure and disposition under an order of the court.
