The department may receive grants-in-aid or receive and disperse pass-through funds or otherwise cooperate and enter into agreements with the United States Department of Agriculture or any other person in the department’s implementation or enforcement of the Plant Protection and Plant Pest Act or federal programs related to plant protection or plant pests in the state.
Terms Used In Nebraska Statutes 2-10,110
- Department: shall mean the Department of Agriculture. See Nebraska Statutes 2-1078
- Person: shall mean any body politic or corporate, society, community, the public generally, any individual, partnership, limited liability company, joint-stock company, or association, or any agent of any such entity. See Nebraska Statutes 2-1084
- Plant: shall mean any plant, plant product, plant part, or reproductive or propagative part of a plant, plant product, or plant part including, but not limited to, trees, shrubs, vines, forage and cereal plants, fruit, seeds, grain, wood, or lumber. See Nebraska Statutes 2-1085
- Plant pest: shall mean any insect, arthropod, nematode, mollusk, fungus, bacteria, virus, mycoplasma, parasitic plant, physiological disorder, or other infectious agent which can directly or indirectly injure or cause damage or a pathological condition to plants. See Nebraska Statutes 2-1086
- State: when applied to different states of the United States shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories organized by Congress. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
- United States: shall include territories, outlying possessions, and the District of Columbia. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
