At the first meeting of each fiscal year, the board of directors of a central credit union shall elect from its number a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. The offices of secretary and treasurer may be held by one person if the bylaws so provide. Officers shall hold office for one year or until their successors are chosen and duly qualified. At the first meeting of each fiscal year, the board of directors shall elect a supervisory committee of not less than five members, none of whom shall be a member of the board of directors or the credit committee.

  • Credit union: shall mean a cooperative, nonprofit corporation organized under the Credit Union Act for purposes of educating and encouraging its members in the concept of thrift, creating a source of credit for provident and productive purposes, and carrying on such collateral activities as are set forth in the act.   • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • Person: shall mean an individual, partnership, limited liability company, corporation, association, cooperative organization, or any other legal entity treated as a person under the laws of this state. See Nebraska Statutes 21-1719
  • Year: shall mean calendar year. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
