If an abandoned motorboat, at the time of abandonment, has no hull identification number affixed and is of a wholesale value, taking into consideration the condition of the motorboat, of two hundred fifty dollars or less, title shall immediately vest in the local authority or state agency having jurisdiction thereof as provided in section 37-12,103. Any certificate of title issued under this section to the local authority or state agency shall be issued at no cost to such authority or agency.

Terms Used In Nebraska Statutes 37-12,100

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Motorboat: shall mean any watercraft propelled in any respect by machinery, including watercraft temporarily equipped with detachable motors, but shall not include a vessel which has a valid marine document issued by the Bureau of Customs of the United States Government or any federal agency successor thereto.   • State: when applied to different states of the United States shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories organized by Congress. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
