Nevada Revised Statutes 277A.340 – Counties whose population is 700,000 or more: Advisory committee concerning construction, installation and maintenance of benches, shelters and transit stops
1. In a county whose population is 700,000 or more, the commission shall establish an advisory committee to provide information and advice to the commission concerning the construction, installation and maintenance of benches, shelters and transit stops for passengers of public mass transportation in the county. The membership of the advisory committee must consist of:

- county: includes Carson City. See Nevada Revised Statutes 0.033
- population: means the number of people in a specified area as determined by the last preceding national decennial census conducted by the Bureau of the Census of the United States Department of Commerce pursuant to Section 2 of Article I of the Constitution of the United States and reported by the Secretary of Commerce to the Governor pursuant to 13 U. See Nevada Revised Statutes 0.050
(a) Two members of the general public from each city within the county who are appointed by the governing body of that city; and
(b) Six members of the general public appointed by the commission.
2. Each member of the advisory committee serves a term of 1 year. A member may be reappointed for additional terms of 1 year in the same manner as the original appointment.
3. A vacancy occurring in the membership of the advisory committee must be filled in the same manner as the original appointment.
4. The advisory committee shall meet at least six times annually.
5. At its first meeting and annually thereafter, the advisory committee shall elect a chair and vice chair from among its members.
6. Each member of the advisory committee serves without compensation and is not entitled to receive a per diem allowance or travel expenses.
