Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21-L:18

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
An appeal under this subdivision shall be considered a rehearing for purposes of N.H. Rev. Stat. Chapter 541 and any other provision of law requiring a rehearing in the department prior to taking an appeal to any court.
