  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
All property of the department and all property held in the name of the state and under the jurisdiction of the department shall be exempt from levy and sale by virtue of an execution, and no execution or other judicial process shall issue against the same. Notwithstanding any other provision to the contrary, no property, real or personal, held by the department or the state pursuant to the provisions of this subdivision, shall be subject to any state, county or local tax.
