Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 291-A:23

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • Donor: The person who makes a gift.
  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
A person‘s decision to make a donation of that person’s own body, organ, or tissue after death shall be honored and may not be revoked or amended by anyone after such individual’s death. In the absence of a revocation or amendment by the individual prior to death, health care providers and procurement organizations shall act in accordance with the donor‘s decision and may take appropriate actions to effect the anatomical gift.
