Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 360:23

  • Mortgagee: The person to whom property is mortgaged and who has loaned the money.
  • Mortgagor: The person who pledges property to a creditor as collateral for a loan and who receives the money.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
If any mortgagor shall be guilty of an offense under N.H. Rev. Stat. § 360:21 or 22, they shall be guilty of a misdemeanor if a natural person, or guilty of a felony if any other person. The court may, if a fine is imposed, allow the mortgagee a reasonable sum therefrom for his loss and expense.
