Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 461-B:11

  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Probation: A sentencing alternative to imprisonment in which the court releases convicted defendants under supervision as long as certain conditions are observed.
The court records of proceedings under this chapter other than a final order of emancipation shall be kept in books and files separate from all other court records. Such records shall be withheld from public inspection but shall be open to inspection by juvenile probation and parole officers, a parent, a guardian, and the minor’s attorney. Additional access to court records may be granted by court order or upon the written consent of the minor.
