  • Bail: Security given for the release of a criminal defendant or witness from legal custody (usually in the form of money) to secure his/her appearance on the day and time appointed.
  • Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
In the case of an order to recognize for appearance before the superior court, the circuit court shall cause copies of the complaint, other process, records and recognizances, together with any cash bail in the case, to be mailed or delivered to the clerk of the superior court of the county or judicial district thereof within 10 days after the date of such order for recognizance. A copy of the complaint or other process shall also be mailed or delivered to the county attorney for the county within said 10 days.
