Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 13:1E-67

  • Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
a. Any person who supplies any information which proximately results in the arrest and conviction of any other person for the illegal treatment, storage or disposal of hazardous waste shall be awarded one-half of any penalty collected as a result thereof.

b. The Attorney General shall adopt, pursuant to the “Administrative Procedure Act,” P.L.1968, c. 410 (C. 52:14B-1 et seq.), such rules and regulations as are necessary to implement this section.
