Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 15A:4-6

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
1. A veterans’ organization which organizes as a corporation under the “New Jersey Nonprofit Corporation Act,” N.J.S. 15A:1-1 et seq., shall be exempt from paying the annual report filing fee required pursuant to subsection f. of N.J.S.15A:15-1, when filing the annual report required pursuant to N.J.S. 15A:4-5

As used in this section, “veterans’ organization” means the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, or other veterans’ organizations chartered under federal law, or any service foundation of such an organization recognized in its bylaws.
