Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 16:2-5
- Bequest: Property gifted by will.
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Devise: To gift property by will.
- Testator: A male person who leaves a will at death.
Any devise or bequest to any such corporation shall not be defeated by reason of any misnomer, if the intention of the testator can be ascertained.
