Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 24:1-4
- Cosmetic: means (1) articles intended to be rubbed, poured, sprinkled, or sprayed on, introduced into, or otherwise applied to the human body or any part thereof for cleansing, beautifying, promoting attractiveness, or altering the appearance, and (2) articles intended for use as a component of any such articles. - Device: means instruments, apparatus, and contrivances, including their components, parts, and accessories, intended (1) for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease in man or other animals. See New Jersey Statutes 24:1-1
- Drug: means (1) articles recognized in the official United States Pharmacopoeia, official Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States, or official National Formulary, or any supplement to any of them. See New Jersey Statutes 24:1-1
- Federal Act: means the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (Title 21, U. See New Jersey Statutes 24:1-1
- Food: means (1) articles used for food or drink for man or other animals (2) chewing gum and (3) articles used for components of any such article. See New Jersey Statutes 24:1-1
- State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
No food, drug, device, or cosmetic, which is established to the satisfaction of the State Department to be subject to, and to comply with, regulations promulgated under the Federal Act shall be deemed to be in violation of this subtitle because of its failure to comply with regulations promulgated hereunder, insofar as the same are in conflict with the regulations under the Federal Act.
