Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 26:2S-27

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 2. Notwithstanding section 22 of P.L.1993, c.162 (C. 17B:27A-54) or any other law or regulation to the contrary, a contract between a carrier and a dentist to provide covered services shall not require, directly or indirectly, that a dentist provide services to a covered person at a fee set by, or at a fee subject to the approval of, the carrier unless the dental services are a covered service under the person’s dental plan.
