Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 26:3-19.2

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. Any person holding the position or employment of plumbing inspector under any local board of health of any municipality, which has adopted the provisions of subtitle three of Title 11 (Civil Service) of the Revised Statutes, who has held such position or employment continuously for twelve years from the date of his original appointment thereto, shall be placed in the classified service of civil service without examination, and such employee shall thereafter be subject to all the provisions of Title 11 of the Revised Statutes with respect to tenure, classification and compensation.
