Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 26:4-20

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. Every person designated by any local board of health to receive reports of communicable diseases who shall receive any report of sickness from a physician, superintendent or other person having charge over any institution referred to in section 26:4-19 of this title shall, when the sick person referred to in the report resides in some municipality other than that in which the institution is located, make a duplicate of any such report received by him and transmit the same, within twenty-four hours after the receipt of the original, by mail, to the officer designated to receive the reports in the locality in which the sick person resided before being admitted into the institution.
