Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 26:6-33

  • district: means the district established by law for the registration of vital events. See New Jersey Statutes 26:6-1
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State.   • registrar: means the local registrar of vital statistics. See New Jersey Statutes 26:6-1
The person in charge of any premises on which an interment is made shall indorse, over his signature upon the burial or removal permit, or transit permit, the date of interment and shall return the permit so indorsed or the detachable portion of the transit permit, if any, to the local registrar of his district within 10 days from the date of interment, or within the time fixed by the local board.
