Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 34:1-69.2

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. The Commissioner of Labor and Industry shall appoint a competent person to have charge of such Division of the Deaf, who shall be fully conversant with the sign language of the deaf as ascertained by at least three certified members of the New Jersey Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf; such appointee to be known as Director of the Division of the Deaf, and to be subject to the regular rules and regulations of the Department of Labor and Industry. The director shall be appointed without regard to the provisions of Title 11 (Civil Service) of the Revised Statutes and shall serve at the pleasure of the Commissioner of Labor and Industry.
