Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 34:15-35.17

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State.   • State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
All hearing tests shall be performed by a person at the level of a certified audiometric technician or above; an individual who meets the training requirements specified by the Intersociety Committee on Audiometric Technician Training (American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal 27:303-304, May-June 1966) and the State Department of Health. If hearing loss is demonstrated, an employee shall be referred for audiologic evaluation by a certified audiologist holding a certificate of clinical competence issued by the American Speech and Hearing Association or its equivalent or a physician certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
