Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 34:16-49

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Division: means the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services in the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, for the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. See New Jersey Statutes 34:16-20
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 5. Any worker with a disability, or any public or private institution or agency, corporation, firm, or association, registered with the division pursuant to P.L.1975, c.350 (C. 34:16-45 et seq.), engaged in the manufacture or distribution of articles of merchandise, made or manufactured by a person or persons with a disability, shall imprint or stamp upon such articles of merchandise or affix thereto labels containing the words, “made by a worker with a disability,” to which shall be added the name of the manufacturer, the place of manufacture, and such other information as the division may prescribe.
