Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 48:13A-7.16

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 16. a. The Department of Environmental Protection may compel any person engaged in the business of solid waste collection or otherwise providing solid waste collection services to furnish and file with the department a consolidated annual report or other documents as may be necessary to enable the department to administer its duties as prescribed by law and the provisions of P.L.1991, c.381 (C. 48:13A-7.1 et al.).

b. Should any person engaged in the business of solid waste collection or otherwise providing solid waste collection services fail or refuse to comply with any provision of this section, the department may revoke or suspend the certificate of public convenience and necessity issued to that person.
