- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 48:3-33. Any person who is blind or deaf-blind, accompanied by a dog, known and described as a “seeing-eye dog,” any person who is deaf or hard of hearing, accompanied by a dog, known and described as a “hearing ear dog,” any person with a disability, accompanied by a dog, known and described as a “service dog,” or any person who is blind or deaf-blind, deaf or hard of hearing, or with a disability accompanied by a service dog trained by a recognized training agency or school, when riding on any bus or other public utility, as defined in R.S. 48:2-13, engaged in transportation of passengers, may keep such animal in his or her immediate custody. The Board of Public Utilities shall prescribe rules and regulations concerning such custody.
