Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 4:12A-20

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State.   • Summons: Another word for subpoena used by the criminal justice system.
The director may adopt, promulgate and enforce all rules, regulations and orders necessary to carry out the provisions of this act. An order applying only to a person named therein shall be served on the person affected by personal delivery of a certified copy or by mailing a copy thereof to him at his last known address, and if such person be a corporation then the order shall be served in the same manner upon any officer or agent of the corporation upon whom a summons may be served, pursuant to the provisions of section 2:26-43 of the Revised Statutes.

All rules, regulations and orders adopted by the director shall be filed by him in his office and said file shall be a public record.

All orders and determinations of the director shall include the findings of fact upon which such orders or determinations are based.
