Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 4:13-21

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. An association may admit as members, or issue common stock to, any persons engaged in the production of agricultural products, including the lessees and tenants of lands used for the production of such products, and any lessors and landlords who receive as rent all or any part of such products raised on the leased premises, or any association, however incorporated, whose members or stockholders are so engaged in the production of agricultural products. A member other than a natural person may by due authorization in writing be represented by a natural person or persons.
