Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 4:2-15

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. The Department of Agriculture shall supervise and control fur farming, including the breeding, raising, producing and marketing of fox, rabbit, mink, chinchilla, marten, fisher, muskrat, karakul and all other fur-bearing animals raised in captivity, in like manner as is provided for other animals under Title 4 of the Revised Statutes. Such farming is hereby declared to be an agricultural pursuit, in like manner as provided for other animals under said title, and the employees of those engaged therein are hereby declared to be agricultural laborers. Nothing in this act shall be construed to exempt any person from the provisions of the Fish and Game Act regulating the release or escape from captivity of certain animals or the provisions of other acts forbidding the importation or the raising in captivity of certain animals.
