Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 4:5-3

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. A person who shall violate or fail to comply with an order of the board, or its constituted agent, made pursuant to sections 4:5-1 and 4:5-2 of this title, shall be liable to a penalty of not less than fifty nor more than one hundred dollars for each violation or failure to comply, to be sued for and recovered by and in the name of the secretary of agriculture in the manner provided in article 2 of chapter 23 of this title (s. 4:23-11 et seq.).
