Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 4:5-73

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
The department may recognize and employ as many official veterinarians as may be necessary to make all the tuberculin tests under its jurisdiction. All inspectors, in the performance of their duties, shall have the rights and privileges of constables.
