  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 2. Whenever any person holding public office, position or employment, whose compensation is paid by a local contracting unit subject to the provisions of the “Local Public Contracts Law,” P.L.1971, c.198 (C. 40A:11-1 et seq.), the “Public School Contracts Law,” N.J.S. 18A:18A-1 et seq., or the “County College Contracts Law,” P.L.1982, c.189 (C. 18A:64A-25.1 et seq.), shall indicate in writing to the proper disbursing officer the person’s choice to have a deduction made from his or her compensation for the payment of insurance premiums for a group plan of long term care insurance pursuant to this act, P.L.2005, c.198 (C. 52:18-11.2 et al.), the disbursing officer shall make that deduction from the compensation of the person, and the disbursing officer shall transmit the sum so deducted as directed by the Division of Pensions and Benefits in the Department of the Treasury. Any such written authorization may be withdrawn by the person holding public office, position or employment at any time upon filing a written notice of withdrawal with the above mentioned disbursing officer.
