Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 9:3A-18
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
- State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
1. The Commissioner of Children and Families shall make available in at least the five most common languages spoken in the State, inclusive of Spanish and Korean: applications for services and supports that are available for persons with developmental disabilities, as defined in section 3 of P.L.1977, c.82 (C. 30:6D-3); any forms that are to be used in requesting the informed consent of an individual with a developmental disability, or of the individual’s guardian, with respect to the sharing of health information; and other forms, upon request, to the extent feasible.
