The duties of the Commissioner of Insurance with respect to the investigation of all fires, including forest fires, as contained in Article 1 of Chapter 69 of the N.C. Gen. Stat. and the laws of this State, are hereby transferred by a Type I transfer to the Department of Justice; provided, however, that the duties of the Commissioner of Insurance with respect to the inspection of buildings, the removal of dangerous materials therefrom, hospital insurance, insurance regulation, and the preparation of annual reports, as contained in Chapters 57 and 58 of the General Statutes and N.C. Gen. Stat. § 69-4, shall continue to be among the duties of the Commissioner of Insurance. (1971, c. 864, s. 8; 1977, c. 596, s. 3.)
