Terms Used In North Carolina General Statutes 143A-54

  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the said district and territories and all dependencies. All of the powers, duties and functions of the Governor contained in Chapter 74A of the N.C. Gen. Stat. and the laws of this State relating to the appointment and commission of special police are hereby transferred by a Type I transfer to the Department of Justice. (1971, c. 864, s. 8.)
