A local government may contract with an individual who is not a local government employee but who holds one of the applicable certificates as provided in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 160D-1103 or with the employer of an individual who holds one of the applicable certificates as provided in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 160D-1103 ?(2019-111, s. 2.4; 2020-3, s. 4.33(a); 2020-25, s. 51(a), (b), (d).)
