No employer may discharge, demote, or deny a promotion or other benefit of employment to any employee because the employee complies with the provisions of this Article. The Commissioner of Labor shall enforce the provisions of this section according to Article 21 of Chapter 95 of the N.C. Gen. Stat., including the rules and regulations issued pursuant to that Article. (1998-202, s. 6.)
