The director has the authority to erect and maintain guardrails, stretch wires, and other devices on all highways under the director’s jurisdiction, in the interest of public safety.

Terms Used In North Dakota Code 24-01-16

  • Director: means the director of the department of transportation of this state, acting directly or through authorized agents as provided in section 24-02-01. See North Dakota Code 24-01-01.1
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
