Ohio Code 918.06 – Unauthorized possession, use or keeping of stamps, marks, or brands
(A) No person except authorized representatives of the department of agriculture shall possess, use, or keep an inspection mark, stamp, or brand provided or used under Chapter 918 of the Revised Code for stamping, marking, branding, or otherwise identifying carcasses or meat products intended for human food; or possess, use, or keep any stamp, mark, or brand having thereon a device, words, or insignia the same or similar in character or import to stamps, marks, or brands provided or used under Chapter 918 of the Revised Code.

- agriculture: includes farming; ranching; aquaculture; algaculture meaning the farming of algae; apiculture and related apicultural activities, production of honey, beeswax, honeycomb, and other related products; horticulture; viticulture, winemaking, and related activities; animal husbandry, including, but not limited to, the care and raising of livestock, equine, and fur-bearing animals; poultry husbandry and the production of poultry and poultry products; dairy production; the production of field crops, tobacco, fruits, vegetables, nursery stock, ornamental shrubs, ornamental trees, flowers, sod, or mushrooms; timber; pasturage; any combination of the foregoing; the processing, drying, storage, and marketing of agricultural products when those activities are conducted in conjunction with, but are secondary to, such husbandry or production; and any additions or modifications to the foregoing made by the director of agriculture by rule adopted in accordance with Chapter 119 of the Revised Code. - Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Person: includes an individual, corporation, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, and association. See Ohio Code 1.59
(B) No brand manufacturer, printer, or other person, firm, or corporation shall cast, print, lithograph, or otherwise make any device containing any any official mark or simulation thereof, or any label bearing any such mark or simulation, or any form of official certificate or simulation thereof, except as authorized by the director.
(C) All official devices or simulations must at all times be under direct control of a department of agriculture employee, or under official department of agriculture lock or seal.
