(1) A community may form a municipal corporation to provide park and recreation facilities for the inhabitants.

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • District: means park and recreation district formed under this chapter. See Oregon Statutes 266.010

(2) In addition to other required matters, the petition for formation shall state the number of members to be on the district board and the method of election of the board of the proposed district from among the methods described in ORS § 266.375.
