(1) An authority may enter into contracts for medical, dental and hospital services or insurance covering employees of the authority for life, accidental death and dismemberment, weekly wage indemnity during disability, dental care, remedial care and hospital benefits. Failure to obtain insurance or service contracts shall not be construed as negligence or lack of diligence on the part of the board or the members thereof.

(2) As used in this section, ‘remedial care’ includes services rendered by a person licensed to practice one or more of the healing arts within the scope of the license of the person or any other remedial care recognized under the law of this state. [1973 c.399 § 8]
