To the extent permitted by federal law, lands owned or administered by or under the jurisdiction of the United States, other than federal land as defined in ORS § 607.005, shall be treated in the same manner as private lands for purposes of ORS Chapter 607 and ORS § 608.015, 608.310 to 608.400, 608.510 and 608.990. Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 607.055

  • Federal land: means a tract of land containing 25,000 acres or more owned or administered by, or under the jurisdiction of, the United States and not subject to the laws of this state. See Oregon Statutes 607.005
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • United States: includes territories, outlying possessions and the District of Columbia. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
