Service of an investigative demand under ORS § 618.521 shall be made personally within this state. If personal service within this state cannot be made, substituted service of the investigative demand may be made in the following manner:

  • Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
  • Summons: Another word for subpoena used by the criminal justice system.

(1) By personal service outside this state;

(2) By registered or certified mail to the last-known place of business, residence or abode within or outside this state of the person for whom the investigative demand is intended;

(3) In the manner provided for service of summons in an action or suit; or
