The entry of a judgment by any court establishing the mental disorder of any person holding a license under this chapter operates as a suspension of such license. Such person may resume practice only upon a finding by the Oregon Board of Dentistry that the licensee has been declared restored to mental competence by an order of a court of competent jurisdiction. Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 679.165

  • Dentistry: means the healing art concerned with:

    (A) The examination, diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment, care and prevention of conditions within the human oral cavity and maxillofacial region, and of conditions of adjacent or related tissues and structures; and

    (B) The prescribing, dispensing and administering of prescription drugs for purposes related to the activities described in subparagraph (A) of this paragraph. See Oregon Statutes 679.010

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
