(1) Every public utility or telecommunications utility shall furnish to the Public Utility Commission all information required by the commission to carry into effect the provisions of ORS chapters 756, 757, 758 and 759 and shall make specific answers to all questions submitted by the commission.

(2) If a public utility or telecommunications utility is unable to furnish any information required under subsection (1) of this section for any reason beyond its control, it is a good and sufficient reason for such failure. The answer or information shall be verified under oath and returned to the commission at the commission’s office within the period fixed by the commission.
