(1) Each boat shall carry on board, in good and serviceable condition, sound signaling devices of a type required by the board by rule.
Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 830.230
- Board: means the State Marine Board. See Oregon Statutes 830.005
- Boat: means every description of watercraft, including a seaplane on the water and not in flight, used or capable of being used as a means of transportation on the water, but does not include boathouses, floating homes, air mattresses, beach and water toys or single inner tubes. See Oregon Statutes 830.005
- United States: includes territories, outlying possessions and the District of Columbia. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
(2) The board shall make rules for sound signaling devices in accordance with ORS Chapter 183.
(3) When the board makes rules under this section, it may consider sound signaling requirements and standards adopted by the United States Coast Guard. [Formerly 488.063]
