(1) No person shall so anchor a boat for fishing or other purposes on any body of water over which the state has jurisdiction in such a position as to obstruct a passageway ordinarily used by other boats.

Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 830.345

  • Boat: means every description of watercraft, including a seaplane on the water and not in flight, used or capable of being used as a means of transportation on the water, but does not include boathouses, floating homes, air mattresses, beach and water toys or single inner tubes. See Oregon Statutes 830.005
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Operate: means to navigate or otherwise use a boat. See Oregon Statutes 830.005
  • Person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, firms, partnerships, limited liability companies and joint stock companies. See Oregon Statutes 174.100

(2) No person shall operate a boat within a water area which is clearly marked by buoys or some other distinguishing device as a bathing or swimming area. [Formerly 488.120]
